Three steps to your own server
-
Install
Run the line above on the machine that will be your server: a spare PC, a mini PC or a server in the office. The installer sets up Docker if it isn't there, downloads the current release of , uses the graphics card if there is one, and starts it.
When it finishes, it prints the address to open next.
-
Become the owner
Open that address in a browser on the same network and create the owner account. The owner looks after the server: people, apps, updates and backups.
From Settings you can then give it your own web address and invite the people who'll use it.
-
Bring everyone in
Each person signs in from a browser, the desktop app or their phone. Their mail, files, calendars and Jethro are waiting, and none of it leaves your server unless someone turns that on.
Apps for every screen
Every app opens your own server, so you sign in once and everything is there. They update themselves.
-
Mac
One app for Apple silicon and Intel.
-
Windows
Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
-
Linux
An AppImage that runs anywhere, or a package for Debian and Ubuntu.
-
iPhone
In beta on TestFlight, with an optional Face ID lock.
-
Android and other phones
Open your server's address in the browser and add it to your home screen.
The Mac and Windows apps aren't signed by Apple or Microsoft yet, so the first time you open one, your computer asks whether to trust it. Every release is listed on GitHub.
What it runs on
Any Linux machine with a 64-bit Intel or AMD processor and about 20 GB free will do for mail, files, calendars and the rest.
Jethro and the Aether Series models run on the server too. A graphics card makes them quick: AMD Radeon and Intel Arc work through Vulkan, NVIDIA through CUDA. Without one they run on the processor, more slowly. Settings suggests the model that suits your card.
| Model | Download | Good on |
|---|---|---|
| Angel-1 | about 3 GB | 4 GB cards, or the processor |
| Dominion-1 | about 6 GB | 8 GB cards and up |
| Seraphim-1 | about 16 GB | 16 to 24 GB cards |
